United Way Mexico was founded in 1979 as a program of the American Society and joined the Private Assistance Board of the Federal District. In 1989, United Way Affiliate joined the global network of United Way Worldwide, which has a presence worldwide. In 1992, United Way opened its offices in the states of Chihuahua, Jalisco and Nuevo Leon. Currently, United Way has a presence in 12 states of the republic, by encouraging the voluntary participation of the private sector to contribute to the development of Mexico’s most vulnerable communities. A nonprofit institution that is responsible and professional, they encourage the voluntary participation of the private sector to contribute to the development and sustainable livelihoods of the poorest communities of Mexico.
